Eldon Goranovic, owner of MEDIALL Internet Solutions, was the Austrian lead editor for a Web search content project located in 12 different countries. I was the global editorial manager for the project and had the pleasure of meeting Eldon in person in London. We were constantly in touch by phone, messenger, and e-mail. Most editors on the project had the opportunity to be trained face to face, but circumstances demanded that Eldon be trained remotely. The project was very complex, so the fact that he learned it effectively demonstrates his knowledge of computers, Internet search methods, and English.

In addition to attending conference calls in English, Eldon read and acted upon complex documentation in English and wrote reports in English. The project required that he be able to write enticing, concice, consumer-oriented language in German. He demonstrated sharp insight into his own culture, thorough knowledge of local and global current events, excellent online research and Internet skills, and deep, practical understanding of systems helped him install software, troubleshoot, and communicate problems. He kept up with the constantly changing technologies and tools of the project with humor and patience. He kept working (apparently cheerfully) in the face of occasional technical failures, delays, and loss of data caused by problems on the client's end. He showed a high concern for quality and an eye for detail.

He developed a cordial and trusting relationship with the local client while still balancing the needs of the global client and of his global editorial manager (me). He is practical and solution-oriented. At times he shared duties with other editors and was good at delegating when necessary. He took pains to understand the details of each situation correctly and was careful to report all contingencies so that we could make the best possible decisions. He showed good judgement about when to proceed on his own and when to check in first with us at headquarters.

Although that project is finished, I would be happy to work with him again on others.
